Order sent to the defterdar of the imperial treasury who is currently in Sakız (Chios) to collect taxes and finish up registration of population and to the sancakbey and kadı of Sakız upon the request of the bailo regarding the Venetian subjects residing in the island of Sakız. The Venetians in accordance with the ahdname are exempt from the Ottoman taxes in case they are there for trade. However, tax officials have demanded some taxes from the Venetian subjects as well. Now, the Ottoman officials are ordered not to demand any taxes from the Venetian subjects coming from Venice, Crete and other Venetian territories around.
