The Venetian dragoman and men sent by the Tunusians met in the presence of Receb Paşa in Istanbul to discuss the issue of the corsairs and enslaved Venetians. Moreover, the Şeyhülislam concluded that those slaves were to be freed. Accordingly the Ottoman officials in Tunus are ordered to free the slaves and return them back to the Venetians.
