Order sent to the beylerbeyi and kadı of Mısır upon the request of the bailo regarding debts of Venetian merchants and responsibilities of the Venetian consuls. The ahdname states that the Venetian consul and his men cannot be considered responsible for debts of Venetian merchants. A French merchant who had business with a Venetian merchant but did not get paid harassed the consul and other Venetians for the debt. The beylerbeyi and kadı are ordered to stop him and ensure that no one is harassed for debts of other merchants.
