Order sent to the kadıs of İstanbul and Galata upon the request of the bailo regarding customs fees demanded from the merchants. Traditionally, merchants carrying goods from Venice or traveling with Venetian ships are required to pay consular fee (bailaç hakkı) for Venetian consuls and bailo. This fee is also collected at the customs. However, some non-Venetian Christian and Jewish merchants have been reported to have avoided to pay this fee. The kadıs are ordered that this fee is to be charged from the merchants as well in accordance with the ahdname.
